Listen to Drake on iHeartRadio

Drake is showing the world his range as an artist.  The rapper took the stage at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards to perform his hit "Started From The Bottom" as well as his latest single "Hold On, We're Going Home."

"Drizzy" began his performance in front of an image meant to resemble the artwork for his upcoming album Nothing Was The Same.  While the video for "Started From The Bottom" was up for two awards Sunday night, Drake walked away empty handed.

The video lost out to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's "Can't Hold Us" for the title of Best Hip-Hop Video.  It was also up for Best Direction, but that honor ended up going to Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" featuring Jay Z.
