Entergy Line Work to Close I-10 at I-610 in New Orleans East Sunday Morning

Interstate briefly closed in both directions as overhead electrical work is completed

NEW ORLEANS - Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Interstate 610 will be closed for approximately 30 minutes between 7 and 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 6, to allow Entergy to safely replace overhead electrical lines crossing the highway. Between 8 a.m. and noon, traffic will be restricted to two lanes only as work continues. Since the work is scheduled to take place between exits 238A and 238B in New Orleans East, I-610 traffic also will be impacted where it merges with I-10.

Authorities will be on hand to help route traffic and manage its flow as crews work, and the Department of Transportation and Development will alert motorists on highway message boards.

Electricity will be rerouted in advance so that the replacement of the electrical wires is seamless and will not cause any loss of power to customers.
