Dr. Dre’s Oldest Daughter Says She's Homeless & Living Out Of Her Car

Dr. Dre's oldest daughter, LaTanya Young, is living out of her car.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the 38-year-old opened up about her financial struggles, revealing that she is currently suffering from homelessness.

“My kids are staying with friends — they are not living in the car, it’s just me,” LaTanya shared. “I’m taking odd jobs just to make it now — I got paid $15 an hour as an assembler at the warehouse. I’m trying to keep my head above water. I’ve been in debt for a while.”

The mother of four is Dre’s daughter with Lisa Johnson. The former couple split when LaTanya was just five years old. While she told the outlet she hasn’t seen her father, who is worth $800 million, in 18 years, LaTanya said she has repeatedly asked him — via his team since she doesn't have his cell phone number — for financial help but has not received a dime in 18 months.

Dre used to help support LaTanya and her children financially but allegedly cut her off in January 2020.

“I have friends and family that will let us come back and forth, but the majority of the time I’m living out of my car,” she told the Daily Mail, noting that she fears losing the car soon because it's a rental. “It’s an SUV that costs $2,300 for three weeks and I only paid for one week,” LaTanya explained. “Sooner or later they are going to take the car.”

“It’s embarrassing because people are looking at me wondering: Why?" LaTanya said.

Last month, a judge ordered Dr. Dre to pay his ex-wife Nicole Young nearly $300,000 a month until they reach a divorce settlement.

“[Dre] is ordered to pay to the [Nicole] spousal support in the sum of $293,306.00 per month, payable on the first of each month, commencing August 1, 2021,” the court document, which was obtained by The Blast, stated.

In addition to Dre paying Nicole nearly $300,000 a month, he is also covering her health insurance and will “continue paying the expenses for the Malibu, and Pacific Palisades homes.”
