The Harvest Festival at Crescent Park (Sunday: Noon to 6 p.m.)

The Harvest Festival comes to Crescent Park in the Faubourg Marigny on Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. In its inaugural year,

NORDC's "Teen Halloween Night" (Friday: 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.)

The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission will host its annual "Teen Halloween Party" at the Milne Rec Center in Gentilly (5420 Franklin Avenue) on Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The evening will feature an outdoor movie, a DJ, candy and a costume contest. Open for teens ages 12 to 17.

NORDC's 'Spooktacular Halloween Party' (Tuesday: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.)

The "Spooktacular Halloween Party," hosted by NORDC, will be held at several recreation centers throughout the city on Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This family-friendly, free event will feature candy-eating, carnival games and a costume contest. Locations include:

NORDC's 'Thriller' Flash Mob (Tuesday at noon)

The annual "Thriller" flash mob will be held outside City Hall (1300 Perdido Street) on Halloween day, at 12 p.m. The public may drop in for a final, free, hour-long dance rehearsal to participate in the collective groove to Michael Jackson's spooky classic. This last rehearsal will be held Saturday at 11:15 a.m. at the Stallings St. Claude Recreation Center in the Bywater (4300 St. Claude Avenue).

'Shivers at the Shops' (at Canal Place, Saturday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

"Shivers at the Shops" returns to the mall at Canal Place (333 Canal Street) in downtown Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The family-friendly event features trick-or-treating at some stores, face-painting and balloon sculptures, a costume contest and kids crafts including making "their very own slime."

New this year: Kids can check out virtual reality tech. For adults: Shopping specials at stores from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

'Trunk or Treat' at New Orleans Community Church (Saturday: 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.)

The annual "Trunk or Treat" at New Orleans Community Church in the Irish Channel (720 Jackson Street) on Saturday, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The kid-friendly costume event will feature trunks full of candy.

Boo at the Zoo' (Audubon Zoo, Friday and Saturday)

"Boo at the Zoo," the popular annual family-friendly Halloween event at the Audubon Zoo, will be held Friday and Saturday starting at 5 p.m. The ticketed event for kids up to 12 years old features a host of games, inflatables, live entertainment and animal interactions.

Tickets are sold out for Saturday, but are still available for Friday.

Family Fall Picnic' in Lakeview (Saturday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

The annual "Family Fall Picnic" at Fleur De Lis Playground in Lakeview (6700 Fleur de Lis Drive) will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will feature food, face painting, music, inflatables and a costume contest. Hosted by the Lakeview Civic Improvement Association.
