With the threat of rain affecting several Mardi Gras parades this week, one beloved super krewe is already discussing possible alternative plans for their parade.
The Krewe of Endymion said in an update Tuesday that members are working on alternative plans because of the threat of inclement weather.
Some of the possible changes could be a new start time or moving the parade to a different day. Officials are asking parade members to be on-call as early as noon Friday.
Endymion is currently set to roll at 4:15 p.m. Saturday in Mid-City.
Officials told WDSU reporter Aubry Killion that nothing has been decided, but it's possible the parade could be moved to Friday.
WDSU meteorologist Kweilyn Murphy said another cold front is forecast to approach the area late Friday, pushing through Saturday morning. Showers and storms will be possible during the first half of the weekend. Click the video above to watch the latest forecast for this week.
"The weather forecast for Endymion parade day calls for rain during our scheduled parade time," organizers said in an update.
Officials said the Endymion Extravaganza at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will continue Saturday evening.
