New Orleans will have one of the NFL’s top wide receivers -- Michael Thomas -- around for a while.
The Saints and Michael Thomas have agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $100 million with $61 million in new guaranteed money, a source familiar with the situation confirmed Wednesday morning with The Times-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate. The deal also includes a $20 million signing bonus.
The guaranteed money, according toESPN.com, is the highest in NFL history for a non-quarterback.
The 26-year-old Thomas was set to enter the final year of his rookie deal, which pays a base salary of $1.14 million in 2019.
