Capital One Bank presents Gentilly Fest No outside food, drinks or pets

Come out to celebrate Gentilly Fest presented by Capital One Bank October 11, 12 and 13. .Head over to Pontchartrain Park playground, corner of Press and Prentiss Drive, for a weekend of music, food and family fun. With three stages of live music the festival will be rocking all weekend. Capital One Bank is a committed partner of its New Orleans community and proud participant in this annual event that makes our city so special: great neighborhoods, world-class music, artists, and food.

 On Friday night Oct. 11, at 6:00 pm the festival will kick off the “Evening under the Stars”. The musical lineup begins with NOSACONN Presents, Russell Batiste and Friends, ending with a special guest performance by Matt Dillon and NOLA Resistance. 

On Saturday, Oct. 12 the festival will kick off at 12 noon, the he Mary D. Coghill Elementary school band will kick off the festival along with the SUNO Jewel dance team. The Main Stage acts include:

Saturday October 12, 2019 - DJ Raj Smoove, Zydeco Mike, Fermin & Merengue4-Four, Micheala Harrison, DJ Slick Leo, Ladies of Soul "Featuring Sharon Martin, Naydja CoJoe, and Rechell Cook", Casme', and Bounce Royalty “Featuring Choppa, Cheeky Blakk and DJ Jubilee”.

Sunday October 13, 2019 - DJ Raj Smoove, SUZe' the Band, Tonya Boyd-Cannon, Bamboula 2000, DJ Slick Leo, Dawn featuring Frankie J of Chocolate MilkandPartners-N-Crime.

Saturday, the very popular Gospel Tent sponsored by Martin Insurance will feature soulful performances by choirs from throughout the city. The lineup include: Holy Cross Lutheran, Connie & Dwight Fitch and friends, Pentecost Baptist, Zulu Ensemble, Watson Memorial, First Grace United Methodist, Jessica Harvey and the Difference, and the Greater St. Stephen FGBC Choir. Sunday’s performances include: Men of Bethel Colony, Drea Marie, Pure Culture, College 3, House of Faith, Bishop Onassis/Christ Temple/Justified, Tyrone Jefferson & Abundant Life Tabernacle.

The festival offers delicious food from local vendors and a Dining Tent courtesy of the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots. This year, Folgers Coffee will offer festival attendees a chance to enjoy a cold or hot cup of their world famous coffee products. The Entergy Kids Village will provide face painting, storytelling and activities for everyone. You can even check out the status of the Saints game by visiting the AT&T tent.

While you’re at the festival don’t forget to get the latest wellness information at the Jen-Care Medical tent. Visit the tent and get a Q&A with Dr. Cory Hebert and other health service providers from the New Orleans East hospital. Numerous Arts & Crafts vendors will showcase and sell their beautiful creations at colorful booths. The Gentilly Fest will open out with a second line through the festival.
