As we observe MLK Day on Monday, let's not forget the sacrifices that were made by the man who led the Civil Rights Movement. Think about it. A lot of the "freedoms" we have today were made because some of the moves made by Dr. King and many of our ancestors.
We have come a long way as a race, however we still have a long way to go. Make the day a day of volunteerism, learn about our history as a culture, spend quality time with the family, impact someone in a positive way while honoring the legacy of Dr. King. Yes, it's a federal holiday and a day off for many people. But please, make the day count and do something that will further the growth of our culture.
The Dream is not deferred.
