R&B lovers delights at this year's Jazz Fest

NEW ORLEANS (WYLD-FM)- While the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival has always offered world class talent in many music genres, in addition to jazz, the 2017 edition of the festival promises to be one for the best ever for lovers of R&B.

Stevie Wonder was the first artist announced for this year's fest, in hopes that fans can get a redo on last year's rained out affair, where he lead the soaked audience in a megaphone tribute to Prince.

That announcement was only the tip of the iceberg, as Quint Davis' Festival Productions team has lined up Patti LaBelleUsher and The Roots together, Earth, Wind & FireThe MetersMaze featuring Frankie BeverlyAaron NevilleWillam BellGeorge BensonTower of PowerCorrine Bailey Rae, and more.

Our city is also repped pretty large in the R&B category with Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave., closing out the main stage, the Nite Tripper Dr. John bringing the funk, PJ Morton handling a set of his own after his Maroon 5 duties, plus Cyril Neville, and plenty of sangin' going on with The Dixie Cups, Jean Knight, and Wanda Rouzan on the same stage!  This year promises to be one of the best ever!
