Tyrese Accused Of Child Abuse, Star Denies Claims

Tyrese must stay away from his daughter after being accused of child abuse. The girl’s mother obtained a temporary restraining order after alleging he attacked their 10-year-old child. But the actor is firing back and denying the claims.

Tyrese and ex-wife Norma Gibson have infamously feuded over the last few years, with her repeatedly alleging he was abusive during their marriage. This is the first time, however, she has accused him of harming their daughter, Shayla, of whom they share custody. In a legal declaration, Gibson claims that during an August incident involving a dispute over a piggy bank, Tyrese “went into a rage, pushed our daughter to the ground, pinned her face down, put his knees on her back, grabbed her hands with one arm and beat her with the other.” It’s alleged the young girl “begged for mercy,” only for him to “beat her again,” and she could not sit afterward “due to the pain she was experiencing.” Gibson further asserts she fears her former husband will kidnap the child and move to Dubai, where he spends a lot of time.

A temporary stay-away order was granted, barring Tyrese from seeing and contacting his daughter or his ex until a court hearing on October 2, as first reported by The Blast. An attorney for the Fast & Furious star immediately deemed the allegations untrue, and now Tyrese has taken to Instagram to do the same. In a lengthy post, which features three photos of himself with Shayla, he accuses Gibson of retaliating against him for remarrying earlier this year. He writes, “Norma I know you can see this, I’m sorry I got re-married, I’m sorry we didn’t work out I’m sorry you haven’t been able to find another man since we separated.”

“I have NEVER wished harm on you……. I was hoping by now you got over what we used to be… But I see the attacks just won’t stop so I believe this too will pass and God and the courts will reveal the truth,” he said. “I want you to know I still love you and wish you the best in all that you’re looking to do… I just simply wanna co-parent and raise Shayla to be a respectful, decent, smart angel that I know she is… Paint your picture but God knows the truth.”

Tyrese went on to note, “if I was a bad dad I wouldn’t of went from 80/20 to 70/30 to 60/40 to 50/50 custody in my favor.” He later concluded, “that’s my story and I’m sticking to it…. More truths coming soon……. Child custody family issues are the worst..” Read the full statement below.
