The United States leads the world with a record 902 billionaires in 2025, according to the newly released Forbes Billionaires List. That’s more than any other country, with China following behind with 516 billionaires and India in third with 205.
Among the American billionaires, some of the most recognizable names include tech moguls like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates. Walmart heir Jim Walton and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg also continue to hold strong positions on the list.
In the Black community, the 2025 list features a familiar group of influential figures who have leveraged their talent, strategy, and branding to accumulate wealth. These include investor Robert F. Smith, NBA legend Michael Jordan, media icon Oprah Winfrey, and entertainment moguls Jay-Z and Tyler Perry. Other notable names include Rihanna, Magic Johnson, LeBron James, Tiger Woods, and Sheila Johnson, the co-founder of BET.
While the wealth gap remains an ongoing conversation, the growing presence of Black billionaires is a reminder of how cultural influence, entrepreneurship, and innovation continue to shape America’s economic landscape.
